Marine Corps Arrive in Norway For Cold Weather Warfare Preparation

Sometime within the next few weeks, a new Marine Corps rotation will be arriving in Norway as part of a continued effort to prep its forces for a potential cold weather fight.

Around 700 Marines from the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, will be the primary unit to deploy, their fifth six-month rotation to Norway.

Although specific training plans weren't released, it was states that they will conduct a variety of cold weather training events, winter survival tactics, and extreme cold-weather fighting techniques.

This is also strategic in building relationships with Norwegian government.

Why do you think the Corps is training in the cold?

Let me know in the comments!
