5 Tactical Self Defense Tactics for Women

5 Tactical Self Defense Tactics for Women

Merry Christmas Eve!

I know this seems like an untimely blog post, but who doesn't love to learn how to kick some butt?!

Check out these 5 simple yet effective tactical self defense tactics for women.

5. Hold Your Ground with a Non-Confrontational Stance

When it comes to self-defense, the element of surprise is one of your best friends.

Most attackers think that you are helpless, so let them think that and capitalize on it.

If you show that you know what you're doing, they are more likely to use more force.

4. Trust Your Gut

If something doesn't feel right, you're probably right.

Many women who have been assaulted say something along the lines of, "I had this bad feeling, but I ignored it."

So, this fourth tactic could be the most effective; if you get that weird gut feeling, do your best to leave the situation before it escalates.

3. Appear Confident (Even if You're Terrified)

We may be slightly more evolved than animals, but our instincts are still very similar; one of them being that predators target those they consider the most weak or vulnerable.

Just like animals, assailants prey on easy targets.

So walk around with your shoulders back, head held high, and awareness. Appearing confident and strong makes you much less of a target in the first place.

2. Have a Strong 'Vocabulary'

If it escalates to the point of the attacker engaging you verbally, he probably already has an arsenal of phrases to make you freeze in your tracks.

A good way to counteract this is to be aggressive in your words; shoot down his tactic with your tact.

The strength of your voice alone may have him back down.

1. Keep a Safe Distance

Everyone has their boundaries, and everyone knows this.

Going back to that gut feeling we were talking about before, when that feeling strikes because someone is too close to you, listen to it.

Don't freeze in fear and allow him to slowly encroach on you; take steps back if you need to. Just do it with confidence and grace, not panicked and fearful.

Hopefully you won't have to use any of these tactics on your in-laws tonight or tomorrow!

I'm kidding.

Have a very Merry Christmas, and God Bless America.
